Women’s Climate & Gender Equality Hub
‘Stronger together’
The Women’s Climate & Gender Equality Hub is an emerging collaborative online space for diverse, grassroots and membership-based women’s organisations at the intersection of gender equality and climate action, including those representing specific communities, identities, and lived experiences.
-
We stand in solidarity with First Nations and Pacifika women whose voices, knowledge, leadership and lived experience are central to climate action and gender equality.
We stand with young women and girls for fair representation of the generations whose whole lives will be uniquely shaped by the decisions made now, older women who are both vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and have deep knowledge and lived experience to bring to the table, and women of diverse cultural backgrounds.
Our work is shaped by all their calls for accountability, care for Country and ocean, and the protection of communities most affected by climate impacts. We recognise that any credible climate leadership from Australia must reflect these responsibilities
-
Amplify a collective, rational and informed voice for gender-just climate action.
Collaborate and leverage different strengths, talents and skills of organisations individually and collectively.
Share information, opportunities and learn from each other, integrating climate justice with gender justice.
-
Meet with representatives of the member organisations online every 2 - 3 months
Be part of, or invite your own, members to online quarterly events with members and friends to break down silos and connect gender and climate action
Promote, support and engage in member-led activities
Share collaboration and joint advocacy opportunities.

Letter of introduction to the Australian Government (October 2026)
Ahead of COP31 where Australia is leading negotiations, we have sent a letter to Australian Government ministers responsible for climate change and environmental protection, and other parliamentarians, to introduce the WC&GE Hub and let them know that women across Australia are organised, attentive and watching closely as they Parliament shapes the country’s climate commitments and international positioning.
